Bulgarian Internet Community Meets Google Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist Dr. Vint Cerf
On July 5th ARC Fund hosted a meeting with Dr. Vint Cerf, Vice President and chief Internet evangelist for Google. Dr. Cerf, who is widely known as one of the "Fathers of the Internet", is the co-designer of the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet. He currently serves as chairman of the board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

Dr. Cerf met with representatives of the Bulgarian Internet community – NGOs, ICT industry leaders, public officials and Internet activists.

The event was part of a high-profile visit to Bulgaria of leading US Internet and IT experts, and in conjunction with a meeting of the Bulgarian Presidential Advisory Council on ICT. Other members on the US delegation included Ms. Esther Dyson, author of the book Release 2.0, and founding chairperson of ICANN; Mr. Fred Baker, chairman of the Board of the Internet Society; Mr. Brian Cute, Vice President for Governmental Relations at VeriSign; Mr. Philpp Grabensee, Chairman of the Board of Afilias; Mr. George Sadowsky, Executive Director of the Global Internet Policy Initiative (GIPI); Ms. Lynn St. Amour , President and CEO of the Internet Society; and Mr. Edward Viltz, President and CEO of the Public Interest Registry (PIR).
The meeting was organized jointly with the Internet Society – Bulgaria.
