Training on ICT Priority of New EU Framework Program (FP7)
On December 6, 2006 in Sofia ARC Fund organized an information and training event to present the ICT Priority of the new Seventh Framework Program of the European Commission for research and technological development. The event was attended by 30 researchers and companies in the ICT sector who intend to participate in EU research projects.

The one-day event featured presentations on the overall structure of the Seventh Framework Program (FP7) and the main difference from the previous FP6, the FP7 instruments (or types of projects), the new ICT Work Programme for the period 2007-2008, the research topics to be financed under the ICT priority and budgets available. A more practical training component guided participants through the stages of preparing, submitting and negotiating FP7 project proposals. An afternoon session was devoted to presenting examples of successful projects (realized under FP6) and individual meetings with participants to help them refine their project ideas.

The National Contact Point for the ICT Priority of FP7 provided practical tips on the upcoming call for proposals of interest to Bulgarian participants in the program. Several participants (i.e. Unisoft Bulgaria Ltd., i-Soft Ltd. and others) shared impressions and information from the European Commission’s launching IST Conference held in Helsinki, Finland on November 21-23, 2006.

The event was organized as part of the European IST project, in which ARC Fund is a partner, and in cooperation with the French company, EuroQuality. It is part of ARC Fund’s portfolio of information support and coaching services offered to Bulgarian ICT companies and researchers.
