| High-level Launching Policy RIS Conference |

On November 30, 2001 ARC Fund organized in Plovdiv a launching conference for introducing the RIS project. 140 personal invitations had been mailed to representatives of the state, regional and local administrations, universities and RTOs, NGOs, companies, and banks. Invitations had been also sent to the German and Greek embassies, and the Delegation of the European Commission to Bulgaria.
86 participants attended the conference. Both project process consultants - Prof. Bakouros and Dr. Richter, participated in it and presented the experience of Thessaly and Saxony Anhalt under the RIS initiative stressing upon benefits for the regions. Mr. Papis, the Director of the Regional Development Fund of Thessaly and Head of the Innovative Actions for the Region of Thessaly also participated in the conference and contributed to its work through presenting the strong political support on behalf of the Region of Thessaly to the RIS of SC Bulgaria.
There was a press-conference after the event after which Ms. Damianova, Dr. Richter and Prof. Bakouros gave interviews for the regional TVs and radios.
