Since 1990, the Center for the Study of Democracy, an official partner of the US Sabre Foundation, has received and distributed over 330,000 books around the country. They were sent in 16 shipments amounting nearly to USD 19 million.

On the eve of Christmas holidays, December 20, 2001, at the Clinics for Psychiatry and Psychology of Sofia's Medical Academy, the Center organized an exhibition of donated medical literature, amounting to USD 500 thousand. It included titles with medical atlases, textbooks, reference materials, dictionaries, educational CDs, video tapes and slides by the US Williams and Wilkins Publishers, provided by Sabre Foundation. It is a part of a series of presentations of the medicical literature, donated by the US Sabre Foundation for Medical Academy, Sofia.

The donation was delivered by Mrs. Sharon Miles, wife of the US Ambassador to Bulgaria, to Dr. Atanas Koundourdzhiev, Director of Alexandrovska Alternative Treatment Hospital.
