The Applied Research and Communication Fund and the Center for
the Study of Democracy, with support from the Freedom House held a
country workshop on March 9, 2001 entitled Foreign Direct
Investments in Bulgaria: Alternatives to Reduce Existing
Barriers.
The workshop brought together business, government,
academia and media experts to discuss the Country Report on Foreign
Direct Investment and to propose policy measures to reduce existing
barriers and attract foreign investments. It was organized under
the framework of the regional projectForeign Direct
Investments in Balkan Countries: Alternatives to
Reduce Existing Barriers in a series of workshops in Tirana
on March 2, 2001 conducted by the Institute for Development
Research and Alternatives, Albania and Skopie on March 14, 2001 by
the Center for Strategic Research and Development, Macedonia.
