Law on Registered Pledges
The Law on Registered Pledges was drafted by a Task Force with the CSD Law Program during the period 1995 - 1996. The draft was passed into law by the Parliament in November 1996 and thus Bulgaria became the third European country, together with Norway and Hungary, where a modern non-possessory pledge system with a central pledges registry was implemented.
Law on Electronic Document and Electronic Signature
The Law on Electronic Document and Electronic Signature was drafted by a Task Force with the CSD Law Program during the period 1999 - 2001. It was adopted by the National Assembly in March 2001 and is effective since October 7, 2001. The law introduces a modern legal framework for the use of electronic documents and electronic signatures in compliance with the respective EU legislation.
