The launch of the project "Countering Corruption in the Local Government - Anticorruption Practices in the Municipalities of the Pernik Region" was announced at a press conference, which took place on November 28, 2002 in Pernik.
The project is carried out by the Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development and the Regional Business Center – Pernik. The project objectives and expected results were explained during the press conference. As the first anti-corruption project in the region, it came into notice and focused the public attention on the corruption issues.
Journalists from the local and regional media, representatives of the organizations working on the project, members of the Board of the Regional Business Center - Pernik, representatives of the project target municipalities Pernik, Trun, Breznik, Zemen, Radomir and Kovachevci, as well as the Chairman of Municipal Council Pernik, the Deputy Mayor and the Secretary of Pernik Municipality took part in the press conference.
All the participants received materials on the project and on the activities of Coalition 2000.
