Training Seminar The School Mediator: a Method for Conflict Resolution at the Secondary School
On 26 October, 2004 the Bulgarian Association for Out-of-court Conflict Resolution, Plovdiv organized a seminar for school directors and teachers from secondary schools in Plovdiv on the following topic: The School Mediator: a Method for Conflict Resolution at the Secondary School.
Participants in the seminar were representatives from four Plovdiv secondary schools interested in the establishment of the position of the school mediator as a method for resolving internal conflicts at the schools. The organizers of the seminar acquainted the teachers with the procedure and possible variants for electing school mediators and the draft statute for his/her work on the basis of the experience from the three pilot schools included in the project. The project Support and assistance in out-of-court resolution of conflict in the sphere of secondary education through the establishment of school mediators is implemented in the framework of the Civil Society Against Corruption Program of Coalition 2000.
