Training Seminar Counteracting Corruption in the Delivery of Services to Citizens
 
On 6 October 2004, the Regional Business Center for Supporting of SMEs, Pernik organized a training seminar for the members of the Public Anticorruption Council (PAC-Pernik), representatives of local governmental institutions and jurists on the following topic Counteracting Corruption in the Delivery of Services to Citizens.

PAC-Pernik was created under the project Limitation of the Corrupt Practices in the Fields of Public Health Services and the Educational System in Pernik Municipality through Enhancing the Role of Civil Society. Members of the Public Anticorruption Council are: 10 nongovernmental organizations from Pernik municipality, representatives from the local inspectorate on education and health, the regional directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Pernik, local jurists and media. The project is implemented in the framework of the Civil Society Against Corruption Program of Coalition 2000.

The main topics of the training were: the role of the civil society in the process of local level decision-making, methods and venues for undertaking action in cases of corruption, techniques for lobbying and conflict resolution, work with the media, investigation of corruption related case-studies and practices.
