On December 17, 2009 Sociological Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy, launched a project Developing Indicators and Methods of Evaluating the Goals and Actions Related to the Integration of Citizens of Third Countries. The project is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union through the European Fund for Integration of third country nationals.
The overall objective of the project is to develop indicators and methods for evaluation of the objectives and measures for integration of third country nationals in accordance with the Common Basic Principles on integration of immigrants in the EU and according to the National Strategy of Bulgaria for Migration and Integration (2008-2015). The first specific objective is the design and development of indicators for assessing implementation of the objectives of integration of third countries in accordance with best European practices and the needs of the national and local institutions, developing and implementing policies and measures for integration and providing opportunities for their adjustment and optimization. The second specific objective is to develop methods and techniques for monitoring and evaluation of existing measures on integration of third party nationals relevant to the proposed indicators in order to assess the extent of achieving the goals of integration policies.
