New Web Site for Anticorruption Education at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski
In September 2004Social Dialogue Foundation, Sofia launched a new web site on its project Anticorruption Education and Civic Action Against Corruption in the Sofia University. The project is implemented in the framework of the Civil Society Against Corruption Program of Coalition 2000 .
The project team conducted a sociological survey among the students, instructors and administration researching the potential for corruption practices at Sofia University. The results from the survey will be published at the new web site. The site also maintains an on-line database for submission of complaints for corruption conduct and practices at the university. Social Dialogue Foundation also develops the training modules for 150 students from the faculties of Pedagogy and Philosophy at Sofia University, which will acquaint students with the different aspects of corruption conduct in Bulgaria and worldwide, as well as the existing mechanisms for counteracting corruption. The project also involves the establishment of the first academic mediator (academic ombudsman) in the Bulgarian higher education.
The project will conclude with a public discussion on the topic: The Anticorruption Education – an Integral Part of the Civic Education in Bulgaria.
