On April 26-27, 2001, in Kishinau, Moldova, an international round table was held on the issues of the youth non-governmental organizations in the SEE counties. It was organized by the Moldavian Center for Transparency and Democracy. Representatives of NGOs from Yugoslavia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Albania and Moldova took part in the round table. A number of issues related to the role of the youth NGOs and the opportunities for cooperation with already established regional initiatives and particularly with the Stability Pact for South East Europe were discussed. The speakers put a particular stress on the public-private partnership. The Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Democracy, Dr. Emil Tsenkov, presented the activities of Coalition 2000 and some practical aspects of the cooperation between civil organizations and state institutions in the fight against corruption. The activities of the student organization "Society without Corruption", a partner of Coalition 2000, were also presented. All participants gathered around the idea of the need for development of the regional cooperation between youth NGOs in the context of the efforts for stabilization of South Eastern Europe.
