The Ombudsman of Razgrad Opened a Web Page to Improve Her Contacts with Citizens
Since the beginning of September, 2004 the public mediator (ombudsman) of Razgrad Mrs. Ivanichka Dimitrova has its own web page. It is maintained by the Bulgarian Association for Fair Elections and Civil Rights – Razgrad and is created within the project Open Doors for the Citizens of Razgrad, implemented within the framework of the Civil Society Against Corruption Program of Coalition 2000.
Mrs. Dimitrova was elected at that position with a decision of the municipal council of Razgrad on 31 May, 2004. The primary objective of the project implemented by the BAFECR-Razgrad is establishment of citizens’ control over the local authorities through the institutionalization of the public mediator position in the municipal administration of Razgrad.
The web page contains information about the activities and powers of the ombudsman, the achieved results and forthcoming events till the end of the year. The web site also contains sample letters and complaints which citizens can use to submit their requests to the public mediator.
