Georgetown University's East Central European Scholarship Program (ECESP: Opportunities for Anticorruption Studies
 
Georgetown University's East Central European Scholarship Program (ECESP), funded by the United States Agency for International Development, announced its U.S.-based education and training programs for the year 2005:

- 7-12 month programs (starting August 2005) for practitioners in the fields of :
- rule of law (judicial system, anti-corruption, law enforcement) - public administration and policy (central and local)
- regional and local development
- enterprise development and investment
- curriculum development in USAID priority areas: Rule of law, SME, etc.

Minimum requirements: High advanced English skills, higher education, two years of professional experience in the field of study, age 24-45, employment with a Bulgarian entity.

INDEX Foundation is the in-country coordinator of the East and Central European Scholarship Program - regional program for long-term US-based training, administered by the Center for Intercultural Education and Development (CIED) of Georgetown University in Washington, DC, funded by the United States Congress through the United States Agency for International Development. Georgetown’s East Central European Scholarship Program (ECESP) is recognized as one of the leading programs promoting the processes of democratization and privatization in former Soviet bloc countries and working to improve the socio-economic conditions in the region. For 12 years ECESP has provided unique and dynamic education and training experience to committed leaders, experts, administrators and managers from Eastern Europe. As part of its activities ECESP has assisted the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in their endeavors to achieve the standards required for integration into Europe. Since 1998 ECESP is active in Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Romania with the aim of helping these countries attain similar standards. Over the course of its activities ECESP has educated and trained 1147 trainees from the above eight countries, including over 140 persons from Bulgaria, in areas like public administration, finance and banking, regional development, risk management, health financing, international health, labor, NGO management, etc.
