| Seminar: Renewable Energy Sources: Development and Perspectives

 On 24 November 2011 the German Embassy in Bulgaria and Friedrich Ebert Foundation hosted a seminar for journalists discussing “Renewable Energy Sources: development and perspectives”.  Mr. Ruslan Stefanov, Director of the Economic Program at the Center for the Study of Democracy, took part in the seminar, presenting a brief overview of the options and opportunities for development of the Bulgarian energy sector in light of the country’s position within the European economy. Being mindful of the Bulgarian macroeconomic framework, the participants discussed key issues like upgrading the outdated national grid, the potential in energy efficiency, the current state of the national energy infrastructure, and the construction of new generating capacities.
