Investigative Journalism Against Corruption: the New Bulgarian and European Legislature
 
On October 23, 2000, a journalists seminar "Investigative Journalism Against Corruption: the New Bulgarian and European Legislature" took place in Plovdiv. The seminar was organized by CiviLink Foundation and the Union of Bulgarian Journalists in the framework of anti-corruption projects of Coalition 2000. NGO representatives, journalists, independent experts and citizens all took part in the seminar. In the report "Legal Regulations of Accessing Information" Eva Kioseva, attorney at law of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists, introduced participants about different aspects of the Public Access Information Law that pertains new regulations of journalistic work. Emil Tsenkov, Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Democracy, introduced to participants some European documents related to the seminar's topic.

Recommendation No.R/2000/7 of the Ministers Committee at the Council of Europe is dedicated to the rights of journalists to preserve their source anonymity. Participants were offered copies of "Practical Advice for Investigative Journalists" providing guidelines on minimizing court order risks related to journalistic publishing and broadcasting. In the seminar's framework, Georgi Boyadjiev, attorney at law, presented the new edition of CiviLink Foundation / Coalition 2000 - "Corruption in 100 Answers" Manual.
