The delegation was headed by Professor Jin Xin, CCCWS Deputy Director accompanied by Mr. Gao Lianjia, Ms. Wang Xiaoyming and Mr. Sun Binghui, Research Fellows at the CCCWS and Mr. Zhou Rongshui, Third Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria. The visit was initiated on the recommendation of Professor Yu Hongjun, President of CCWCS, who was leading the first delegation visiting Bulgaria in May 2011.

On the CSD side the meeting was attended by Dr. Ognian Shentov, CSD Chairman, Mr. Ruslan Stefanov, Director of CSD Economic Program, Dr. Maria Yordanova, Director of CSD Law Program, Dr. Emil Tsenkov, Senior Fellow and Gen. Chavdar Chervenkov, Director of CSD European Program.

Professor Xin showed appreciation for the invitation and estimated highly the CSD work in the area of anti-corruption and countering organized crime.

Dr. Shentov welcomed the delegation as a follow up to the cooperation established between the two research institutes. He informed the Chinese guests about the CSD efforts to initiate and support institutional reforms and good public governance in various sectors including on EU level. Dr. Shentov responded to a number of questions in the ensuing discussion.
The CSD representatives presented the new public policy instrument for monitoring and organised crime threat assessment in Bulgaria introduced by CSD in partnership with Europol, the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), UK, the Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior and the General Directorate for Combating of Organised Crime.

The two sides exchanged views on the current political and economic situation in Europe, the benefits and the problems related to the Bulgarian membership in the European Union, the potential joining of the Eurozone and the Schengen as well as possible formats for future cooperation between the two research centers.

Professor Xin brought into focus the involvement of the China Center for Contemporary World Studies in numerous international forums and initiatives, among which the Asia-European Dialogue conference in Varna, which the CCCWS attends as part of its on-going visit to Bulgaria.
