Coalition 2000 to Publish Anti-Corruption Textbooks

On October 27, 1998 the editorial team responsible for the publication of anti-corruption textbooks within the Coalition 2000 project met at the Center for the Study of Democracy to discuss the results of its work until now. The meeting, which was attended by representatives of Access Association, the Center for Economic Development, the Center for the Study of Democracy and the Information Centre on the Council of Europe, discussed the format of the anti-corruption textbooks. It was decided that the textbooks would start with an introduction that should provide a picture of the corruption problem in Bulgarian society. The participants in the meeting agreed that the textbooks would consist of no more than 150 pages.

The proposal by Access Association to publish a handbook for aspiring politicians on the eve of the local elections to be held in 1999 was discussed in detail. It was suggested that the handbook contained anti-corruption texts.

The participants in the meeting unanimously selected Georgi Apostolov, Coordinator at Access Association, for a managing editor of the anti-corruption textbooks.
