Conflict of Interests – Social Practice and Legislation
 
On April 20, 2003, the ACCESS Foundation, Sofia, and Info Radio, organized a seminar on the “Conflict of Interests – Social Practice and Legislation”. Key-note speakers: Ass. Prof. Vessela Tabakova, Sofia University lecturer, Dessislava Bankova, Attorney-at-law and Legal Advisor to the Anticorruption Pressure Group – a project of ACCESS Foundation, and Ass. Prof. Georgi Lozanov, member of the Council on Electronic Media.
The major topics of discussion were the conflict of interests in the executive and legislative power. And more specifically:
• Regulatory framework of the statute of Bulgarian MPs – draft law on lobbying and draft law on the ethic code for MPs;
• Bridging over the conflict of interests as a step in the fight against corruption;
• Mechanisms for bridging over the conflict of interests in state administration, control and sanctions;

Special attention was paid to the conflict of interests in the media.
