| Round Table: State Policy in the Field of Central Heating Supply

The Ministry of Energy and Energy Resources with the support of the Media Development Center, Sofia organizes a Round Table Discussion on the following topic: State Policy in the Field of Central Heating Supply on November 26, 2003 - Hall 10, National Palace of Culture, from 9.30 to 1 pm. The Round Table is made possible with the kind support of the USAID Open Government Initiative Project.
The main authorities, obligations and responsibilities of the state institutions in the field of central heating supply will be discussed at the Round Table. The role and activities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (such as social aid and energy subsidies), as well as the role of the State Energy Regulatory Commission on licensing procedures for central heating companies and the protection of consumer rights will also be discussed.
The major purpose of the discussion is to address the increased media and NGO interest to central heating supply at the beginning of the heating season. It will also be a forum for MEER to present to the public and consumers in a transparent way the specifics and the problems in this field as well as state institutions’ mandates and activities. Representatives of all central heating companies in the country, MEER, the State Energy Regulatory Commission, the Commission for Protection of Competition, NGOs, media and electronic media journalists will take part in the discussion.
