Lessons Learned in Anti-Corruption Policy

On March 30, 2004 a regional workshop on assessing the impact of various anticorruption initiatives in the Southeast European Region was held in Tirana,Albania.

The workshop was organized in the framework of the Lessons Learned in Anti-Corruption Policy regional project, implemented by the Soros Foundations Network, in cooperation with the Center for Policy Studies at CEU. The project aims to study good practices in the area of anti-corruption policies and projects in four South East European counties - namely Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Macedonia. Research will cover projects initiated by the Soros Foundations Network, as well as leading multilateral and bilateral donor agencies in the field and national government policies.

Only countries, where a governmental anti-corruption strategy has been implemented, were selected to deliver case studies reports. The experience and achievements of Coalition 2000 as the largest anticorruption initiative in Bulgaria was presented by Dr. Zhivka Damyanova, Senior Advisor at Coalition 2000.
