| Training Seminar for High School Teachers: Methodology in Anticorruption Educaiton Instruction

 On 12 and 13 November, 2004 Association "Elisaveta Klark and Penka Kasabova" organized a training seminar for 30 high-school teachers and administrative staff from two Sofia high schools: Commerce and Banking School and 135th Secondary School “An Amos Komenski”. The seminar took place at the Commerce and Banking School and the topic of the training was Methodology in Anticorruption Education Instruction. The event is conducted under the project Pedagogical Model for Anticorruption Education in Secondary Schools.
 The project is implemented with the financial support of the Civil Society Against Corruption Program of Coalition 2000 and the American Agency for International Development (USAID). Participants in the training were high school teachers from different academic disciplines: literature, psychology, computer science, history, pedagogy, geography, biology, chemistry, as well as pedagogical councilors and representatives from partner NGOs.
 The following topics were at the center of the discussions during the first day of the training: presentation of the project aims and intermediate results of the project of Association "Elisaveta Klark and Penka Kasabova “; tendencies in the civic and anticorruption education in the secondary schools in Bulgaria and abroad; presentation of the results from a sociological survey on corruption practices in the secondary school conducted among 193 students, 129 teachers and 128 parents in the two target schools. During the second day the discussions focussed on: interpretation of the results from the sociological survey and proposing practical methods, forms and means for achieving open and transparent school management and introduction of anticorruption education in the two schools.
Two more on-site trainings for teachers from the two target high schools and discussions with students will take place in December, 2004.
