Trans-regional Technology Transfer (TTT) is
a crucial but up to now only partly developed
instrument for a competitive and innovative ERA.
The market for technology and the way
technology transfer is done are far from
perfect. Insufficient innovation causes a low
growth rate for the European Union.
Furthermore, fundamental changes are emerging
in the way we manage innovation. There is a real
need for a future-oriented development of
regional innovation policies that will result in a
better functioning of TTT.
The blueprint should be especially valuable for
experts with a background in technology
transfer, regional innovation systems and
trans-regional co-operation, including leaders
from companies, research institutes and intermediary
technology-transfer institutions, and especially
for regional authorities. It provides a new
understanding of the context of TTT, as well as a
process for how to design new models of TTT.
