The Center for the Study of Democracy hosts the Sofia Distance Learning Center since 22 March 2004. It is part of the World Bank’sGlobal Development Learning Network (GDLN) – a network, which unites over 60 countries all over the world. The network is established by the World Bank and its objective is to support the stable development and the overcoming of the poverty problems in the countries by creating possibilities for training, exchange of knowledge and dialogue between specialists, engaged in development issues.
The Bulgarian center offers wide range of possibilities for distance learning on topics, concerning development by combining the advantages of the new interactive technologies (videoconferences and Internet) with the traditional forms of seminars and discussions. The Center is open for representatives of the state administration, the business, universities, and NGOs, which would be able to use its services and technology to access the world knowledge and to communicate with their partners and experts all over the world.
