| Coalition 2000’ Project on Anticorruption Education Received a Recognition during the Annual Award Ceremony of World Learning’s Participant Training Program

 On 8 June, 2005 at Hilton Hotel in Sofia, the World Learning program office in Bulgaria held the annual Certificate Awards Ceremony under the Europe and Eurasia Regional Participants Training Program.
World Learning has implemented the Participant Training Program (PTP) of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Bulgaria since 1993. It supports institutions, professionals and leaders associated with the portfolio of USAID technical assistance. 2,400 Bulgarians have participated in programs in more than 25 countries since 1993. More than 250 participants from Bulgaria took part in 22 trainings in 13 countries in the 2004-2005 PTP.
 The topic of one of the trainings conducted under the 2004-2005 PTP was Anticorruption Education. It was organized in cooperation with Coalition 2000 between 2 and 9 October, 2004 in Slovakia. Participants in the program were experts in drafting policies for introduction of anticorruption education in the secondary schools, representatives from the following institutions and organizations: Ministry of Education and Science, the Committee for Coordination of the Work on Combat of Corruption at the Council of Ministers, the Department on Information and Qualification of Teachers at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, media and nongovernmental organizations active in the area of anticorruption education.
 The PTP also announces annual Small Grants Competition, which assists participants with implementation of the action plans they drafted as part of their training. In five rounds of the program so far, 57 grants have been awarded. On 8 June, 2005 World Learning announced the Small Grants Competition for project proposals to be submitted by the participants in the trainings, which took place during the period 1 June, 2004 – 31 July, 2005. The deadline for submitting the final proposals is 7 September, 2005.
