Partnership Statement between the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Center for the Study of Democracy
On August 5, 2005 a Partnership Statement between the national Ombudsman of Bulgaria and the Center for the Study of Democracy was signed by the ombudsman Mr. Ginyo Ganev and the CSD Chair Dr. Ognian Shentov.
The CSD year-long work and the experience, accumulated in the process of establishing the ombudsman institution in Bulgaria, is recognized in the statement. It meets the necessity of cooperation between the Ombudsman and the civil society in order to promote the institution as a competent and effective mechanism for human rights protection and to contribute for further improvement of the work of the administration.
The areas of the future cooperation between the Ombudsman and the CSD aimed at further strengthening the currently established ombudsman institution in Bulgaria are outlined in the statement.
The eight consecutive edition of the CSD,devoted to the ombudsman institution, was also presented at the event.
