 On December 1, 2005 the Center for the Study of Democracy organized a round table on The Challenges to Transition: The Dialogue between Civil Society and the Judiciary. The round table, which took place in Sofia, was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain in Bulgaria. Guest speaker at the event was Mr. Celso Rodríguez Padrón, General Secretary of the General Judicial Council of Spain.
 The purpose of the discussion was to facilitate the dialogue between civil society, government and the judiciary on justice reform in Bulgaria. Ambassadors of the EU Member States, diplomats, senior magistrates, members of parliament, academics, NGO leaders, business representatives and journalists attended the discussion.
