| Conference: Grey Economy and Undeclared Employment

 On 9 and 10 September 2005 the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy held in the town of Varna a conference on grey economy and undeclared employment. During the conference Mr. Todor Yalamov, Project Coordinator in the Economic Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy, presented the trends in hidden economy developments according to the Hidden Economy Monitoring System of Coalition 2000. The data from surveys of the business sector and the general public show that the size of the hidden economy has decreased since 2002, but the shares of the hidden employment and hidden turnovers remain high.
