| Study visit: the Greek Experience in Elaboration and Implementation of Innovation Strategies

  On 28-30 May 2006 representatives of the Center for the Study of Democracy, ARC Fund, the governors of Sofia, Blagoevgrad and Pernik Districts, the deputy governors of Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad Districts, as well as representative of the Ministry of the Regional Development and Public Works took part in a study visit to Thessaloniki, Greece. The objective of the visit was exchange of experience with Greek experts in the framework of the initiative RIS BRIDGE: Regional Innovation Strategy for the South-West region of Bulgaria: Bridging the Innovation Disparities between the Capital Sofia and the Rest of the Region, as well as discussion of the advantages of the regional innovation strategies.
 The Bulgarian delegation visited the regional authority of Central Macedonia, Greece, the Prefecture of Thessaloniki, URENIO – the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki’s research unit, SEPVE - the Association of IT companies in Northern Greece, the Incubator for new enterprises - “Thermi S.A”, Thessaloniki Technology Park, and Thessaloniki Science Centre & Technology Museum.
