On July 28, 2006 in the Center for the Study of Democracy took place a working meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian and Dutch Ombudsman institutions. The National Ombudsman of the Netherlands, Prof. Dr. Alex Brenninkmeijer, the Municipal Ombudsman of Amsterdam, Dr. Ulco van de Pol, representatives of the office of the Bulgarian National Ombudsman, the Sofia Municipality Ombudsman, Mr. Angel Stefanov, civil society organizations and the CSD experts participated in the working meeting.
 Opportunities and perspectives for common actions and exchange of information and best practices between the Dutch and Bulgarian national and municipal ombudsmen were discussed. Future joint initiatives and the cooperation with the non-governmental organizations were also amongst the key topics.
