| International conference: Justice in the Digital Era

CSD Law Program Senior Analyst Mr. Dimitar Markov was among the speakers at the international conference Justice in the Digital Era held in Sofia on 2-3 April 2009. The event, organized by Law and Internet Foundation in cooperation with Technologies and Internet Association (Romania), Center for Information Technologies and Law of the University of Bristol (UK), and DFLabs (Italy), was aimed at strengthening the capacity of Bulgarian and Romanian magistrates to investigate, prosecute and produce judgments in cases involving cyber crime.
In his presentation on the legal framework of computer crime in Bulgaria Mr. Markov made a brief overview of the development of the cybercrime legislation in Bulgaria, paying special attention to the latest amendments passed in 2007 and outlining some legislative problems that are still to be resolved.
