 CSD is currently working on capacity building for the Bulgarian security forces in their anti-corruption mandate (view background). Since 2001 the Center has been implementing the project Prevention of Corruption in the Security Forces. The project is supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and includes cooperation with the Academy of the Ministry of the Interior and "G. S. Rakovski" Defense and Staff College on an anti-corruption training course for both institutions.  The objective is to enhance the capacity of the academies to deliver anti-corruption content to their trainees and thus support the long term ability of the Bulgarian security forces to counteract corruption. The introduction of anti-corruption training courses is being done for the first time in these institutions and is provoking considerable interest both at the respective ministries and by the management of these institutions.
 As part of this project CSD is also facilitating the exchange of advanced expertise and experience between Norwegian institutions and various Bulgarian partners. Among these, the visits by Judge Eva Joly, anti-corruption adviser to the Norwegian government and the delegation from the National Police Service of Norway, the Deputy National Police Commissioner of Norway and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and the Police of Norway have made a significant impact in terms of raising the awareness of the respective Bulgarian agencies on the merits of international cooperation in combating crime and related corruption.
