  Conference: Replacing the Bureaucracy with Transparent, Responsible and Open towards the Citizens Governance

Round Table: Benchmarking Corruption in the European Union - Bulgarian Experience
On 22 March 2007 the Center for the Study of Democracy in cooperation with the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior and the Bulgarian Embassy in Germany organized a round table on Benchmarking Corruption in the European Union. International workshop: Policing Minorities
On September 28-29, 2006, the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) in cooperation with the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC) held an international workshop on policing minorities. The event was aimed to broaden the opportunities for Bulgarian NGOs to work with government and law-enforcement institutions in addressing issues of ethnic and racial discrimination and violence and to increase the capacity of Bulgarian law-enforcement institutions to prevent and analyze issues related to ethnic and racist violence and discrimination. more »

Corporate Social Responsibility Forum in Vienna
On 18-20 June 2006 Mr. Ruslan Stedanov, coordinator of the Economic program of the Center for the Study of Democracy took part in the Anti-corruption and Corporate Governance session of the Corporate Social Responsibility Forum in Vienna. The Forum’s objective was to highlight the responsible practices used by the businesses in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015 and to outline the economic benefits from abiding the Corporate Social Responsibility principles. more »
 
Fourth Annual Security Conference: NATO Transformation - Facing New Security Frontiers
As part of its series of annual security events, the Center for the Study of Democracy held its 2006 security conference NATO Transformation - Facing New Security Frontiers on 28-29 April, 2006. It was a follow-up to the 2006 NATO ministerial meeting hosted by the government of Bulgaria. The conference contributed to the broader debate on NATO’s transformation and helped outline bold new policies, overcoming legacy relationships and trans-atlantic divides. more »
