  Seminar: Conflict of Interest, Good Governance and Management of the Local Authority - Civil Society Relationship
On 14 May 2010, the Center for the Study of Democracy, in conjunction with Ms. Maria Nedelcheva from the European People’s Party (EPP) and the Balkan Trust for Democracy initiative, organized a seminar on the topic of "Conflict of interest, good governance and management of the local authority - civil society relationship”. The seminar was focused on sharing experience in legislation pertaining to conflict of interest and its application to the public-private partnership between municipalities and NGOs. more »
 
Workshops: Feasibility of establishing a European platform to prevent and fight undeclared work
On 4 and 11 May 2010 the Center for the Study of Democracy and Regioplan – – a Dutch research institute, organized two workshops to examine the feasibility of establishing a European platform for preventing and combating undeclared work. Representatives of Ministries of Labour and Social Policy and Ministries of Finance, labor inspectors, research institutes, trade unions and employers' organizations from Central, Southern and Eastern Europe - EU Member States, participated in the workshops. more »

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights statement on the occasion of the International Roma Day 2010
Roma reported the highest overall levels of discrimination across all areas surveyed in the Fundamental Rights Agency's EU-MIDIS survey. To improve the situation, Roma and Traveller communities must be involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of strategies targeting them, stresses the Fundamental Rights Agency in a statement ahead of International Roma Day on April 8. more »
