Round table: Assessing Terrorists Threats
On 16 September 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy held a roundtable discussion on the latest developments regarding terrorist threats in the Middle East. Mr. Brian Jenkins, Senior Adviser to the President of the RAND Corporation presented to the audience the current situation in Egypt, the possible outcomes of the civil war in Syria and the developments within Al-Qaeda. more »
 
Round table: Prospects of Terrorism Financing and Terrorism Violence in the Middle East
On 30 July 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) organized a round table discussion on the financing of terrorism and violence in the Middle East. The keynote presenter at the event was Mr. Brian Michael Jenkins, Senior Adviser to the President of the RAND Corporation and author of numerous books, reports, and articles on terrorism-related topics. more »
 
Workshop: Civil Society Involvement in Anti-Corruption Efforts

Financing of International Terrorism
On 18 June 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) organized a round table on Financing of International Terrorism. The keynote speaker of the event was Dr. Matthew Levitt, Director, Stein Program on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, The Washington Institute for Near East Policy and former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the U.S. Department of Treasury. Dr. Ognian Shentov, Chairman of CSD, opened the discussion, which is part of a series of events dedicated to the financing of terrorism. more »

International Workshop: The experience of European police anti-corruption units - Austria, Belgium and the UK
Between January 28 and February 1, 2013 in the town of Pravets CSD organized an International workshop called The experience of European police anti-corruption units: Austria, Belgium and the UK. The workshop took place within the framework of Enhancing Police Internal Affairs Departments project. The official opening of the seminar was attended by Mr. Rumen Ganev, Director of Internal Security Directorate in the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Emil Stoinev, Director of Inspectorate Directorate in the Ministry of Interior, and Mr. Genu Eduard Radu, Deputy General Director of Anti-corruption General Directorate at the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs. more »
