On November 9, 2007, in Bourgas the Center for the Study of Democracy presented its report entitled Reinforcing Criminal Justice in Border Districts. National Meeting of the Local Public Mediators
On 23 July 2007 the Center for the Study of Democracy organized a national meeting of local public mediators. The event was realized with the support of USAID. National Meeting of Local Public Mediators
On May 17, 2007 national meeting of local public mediators took place in the city of Nova Zagora. The event was organized by the Public Mediator of Nova Zagora Municipality Mr. Misho Bahov. Among the participants in the discussion were Ms. Rositsa Totkova, Director of Citizens’ Complaints and Alerts Directorate of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, representatives of local authorities, public mediators and media. more »

Training seminar for Turkish magistrates
On January 12, 2007, the Center for the Study of Democracy held a training seminar for magistrates from Turkey under the project Enhancing Border Security between Bulgaria, Turkey and Macedonia: Reinforcing Criminal Justice in Border Districts. The project is implemented with the support of the British Embassy. The meeting was aimed to exchange information in connection with the preparation of a report on the state and the problems with the detection and punishment of trans-border crimes. more »
 
Round table: The Ombudsman Institution at European, National and Local Level
On November 28, 2006, the Center for the Study of Democracy in cooperation with Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria held a round table discussion on The Ombudsman Institution at European, National and Local Level. Guest speaker at the event was the European Ombudsman Prof. Nikiforos Diamandouros who spoke before representatives of non-governmental organizations, local public mediators from throughout the country, representatives of foreign missions and officials from the Bulgarian ombudsman’s administrative staff. more »
