Videoconference: World AIDS Day
On 1 December 2005, Sofia Distance Learning Center hosted a videoconference dedicated to the World AIDS Day. The videoconference linked young people in different geographic locations who shared information, best practices, and lessons learned in HIV/AIDS prevention. more »

Videoconference: Corruption and Organized Crime
On 30 September, 2005 the Center for Study of Democracy and the Sofia Distance Learning Center hosted the fifth and final videoconference under the Anti-corruption pilot program titled Corruption and Organized Crime. It was delivered to representatives of public and private sector organizations and NGOs at the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, in Kiev and representatives from public and private sector and donor community in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. more »

Videoconference: Investment Climate: Competitiveness and Poverty Reduction
On June 13, 2005 the Distance Learning Center at the Center for the Study of Democracy, jointly with the World Bank Country Office in Sofia, organized a videoconference discussion on one of the pillars of development - the creation of a better investment climate to create jobs and higher incomes. On April 18, 2005 Ms. Mary Hallward-Driemeier, Deputy Director for the World Development Report (WDR) presented the key issues of the 2005 WDR and its implications for the SEE countries at a videoconference at the Center for the Study of Democracy. The videoconference was opened by Mr. Oscar de Bruyn Kops, World Bank Country Manager for Bulgaria, and it connected representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, USA, and Macedonia. more »
