The South Central Region of Bulgaria was the first Bulgarian region to become a member of the Innovating Regions in Europe Network (IRE Network) having implemented its RIS initiative as a pilot one for the country.

» e-Municipality Report Out of Print,
The e-Municipality Report 2005 has been released this week, as a jointly sponsored product of ARC Fund and the government’s Coordination Center on Information, Communication and Management Technologies (CCIT). The report is the second edition after a pilot study conducted in 2004 which assessed the online presence of Bulgarian municipalities and the extent to which they provide certain e-government services. The baseline study was sponsored by UNDP-Bulgaria.

ARC Fund, together with the District administration of the district of Blagoevgrad and the Association of the South West municipalities, organized an Information day on the RIS BRIDGE initiative for development of a Regional Innovation Strategy of the South West Region of Bulgaria. The InfoDay is one of a series of a RIS BRIDGE Information Days having the objective to introduce the initiative to the local authorities and business representatives and initiate a networking and consensus building process.

On 11 November 2005 ARC Fund held in the town of Pernik the first of a series of RIS BRIDGE Information Days. The objective of the event was to introduce the initiative to the local authorities and business representatives and initiate a networking process.
» Second National Innovation Forum Takes Place in Sofia October 25, 2005 ,
ARC Fund organized the Second National Innovation Forum at the Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan on October 25th, 2005. The event was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and the World Bank Sofia Mission, with the support of DG Enterprise of the European Commission, the Austrian Embassy in Sofia, the EPIQ Electronic Assembly company and the Center for the Study of Democracy. The Forum was held under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Georgi Parvanov.
