Dr. Ognian Shentov

Dr. Ognian Shentov has chaired ARC Fund's Board of Trustees ever since the organisation was founded in 1991. He is credited for his foresight and leadership in a variety of EU and international projects on institutional reforms and on measuring progress/impact in policy implementation, including in research, innovation and technology transfer. Dr Shentov has written and edited a number of publications on the issues of good governance and policy reforms. He is currently focused on environment and energy policy, as well as on technology assessment and public engagement in research and innovation. Dr Shentov holds a PhD in Political Science (1987) and an MA in International Relations (1981). He has been a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and has researched at US policy institutes and think-tanks.

He is member of the Board of Trustees of the New Bulgarian University, the Centre for Social Practices and the Center for Economic Development. He is also the founder and chairman of one of the largest and most influential Bulgarian think-tanks, the Center for the Study of Democracy.
