| TranSMEs Training session and results from the Open call in Transport and Environment sectors. |

 On February 26th, 2007 was held the Training session under the TranSMEs project, co-funded by the European Commission’s 6th Framework Programme (FP6). 20 participants took part at the event, which was focused in Transport and Environment theme in FP7 and how to write successful proposals.
Main presented topics on the training was Rules of participation in FP7, Working programmes in Transport and Environment and Open Calls, Aspects of good proposals, Creation of consortium and Tips in FP6 successful projects. Speakers at the event were Boyko Georgiev (Bulgarian NCP for Environment theme in FP7), Erik Van de Burgwal (SenterNovem, The Netherlands) and Nicola Bergonzi (APRE, Italy).
Open TranSMEs call was announced to collect research project ideas in the fields of transport and environment, to be developed by SMEs from Bulgaria, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia and Turkey.
The results from the two stages evaluation procedure are:
- The best pre-proposal in Transport sector was submitted from Aksial-Motors Ltd. The proposal title is “Research and comparative study on the effect of alternative, renewable bio-fuels usage in contemporary diesel engines and establishing concept for new kinematics diesel engine”.
- The best pre-proposal in Environment sector was set up from Multicoats Ltd. The subject of the project is “New multifunctional smart sensor devices detecting heavy metals”.
Authors of the best project ideas in both sectors will receive practical support in creating project consortia and developing full project proposals, to be submitted to some of the upcoming calls under the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
