Round table: Electronic Document and Electronic Signature: Tools for Good Governance and Transparent Administration
The CSD and Coalition 2000 organized a round table discussion on the practical application of the legal framework of electronic documents and electronic signatures on April 6, 2004 at the Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan
The discussion was aimed at promoting and stimulating the practical application of the legal framework of electronic documents and electronic signatures by setting for discussion the possibilities information technologies grant for raising the efficiency and countering corruption in the work of administration and in the provision of public services.
A wide range of representatives of the legislature, the executive and the judiciary, experts working in the field of information technologies, representatives of foreign and international organizations, the business community, diplomats and journalists took part in the discussion.
The event was accompanied by a presentation of the book Electronic Document and Electronic Signature. Legal Framework developed by the CSD Task Force which elaborated the Draft Law on Electronic Document and Electronic Signature and participated in the preparation of the secondary legislation. The book includes a thorough commentary on the Law on Electronic Document and Electronic Signature, the most important international acts, foreign legislation and review of the Bulgarian initiatives in this field.
