Round Table: Benchmarking Corruption in the European Union - Bulgarian Experience
On 22 March 2007 the Center for the Study of Democracy in cooperation with the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior and the Bulgarian Embassy in Germany organized a round table on Benchmarking Corruption in the European Union. The round table aimed to encourage an EU wide debate on an agreed methodology for benchmarking corruption by taking stock of the experience of Bulgaria’s accession. The discussion contributed to the better understanding of the role of corruption monitoring thus further informing the evolving EU anti-corruption policies. The discussion benefited from a presentation of a comprehensive set of indicators for evaluating anti-corruption progress, developed by CSD. The meeting was hosted by Europäischen Akademie Berlin.
