» Conference on digital and media literacy took place in Sofia, A conference on early childhood development of digital and media literacy took place on 30th of May in Sofia. The conference was organized by the Applied Research and Communications Fund (ARC Fund), coordinator of Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre. The meeting was attended by representatives of a variety of institutions and organisations: non-governmental organisations, UNICEF, lecturers and students from Faculty of Primary and Pre-school Pedagogy of Sofia University, school and kindergarten teachers and principals, representatives of the Electronic communications networks and information systems state executive agency, State Agency for Child Protection, Ministry of Culture.

» Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre is building a cyberscouts network, The Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre at the Applied Research and Communications Fund has started its new educational campaign “Cyberscout.”

» SIC and Telenor in a joint educational campaign, On the occasion of the International Safer Internet Day Telenor launches educational campaign dedicated to the safety of children online. The campaign is held together with the Ministry of Interior and Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre.

» Training for Varna students on the link between Internet and human trafficking, The team of the Safer Internet Centre from the Applied Research and Communications Fund conducted two training sessions in Varna on October 20-21 as part of the campaign “Better Be Informed than Exploited” on the occasion of the European Anti-Trafficking Day.

» Young people learn how to teach their peers strategies for dealing with violence, The team of the Safer Internet Centre from the Association Parents held a one-day training “Emotional Intelligence in Real and Virtual World as a Way for Dealing with Violence” with the young people aged 16-19 from the Youth Parliament Gorna Oryahovica.

» A different Safer Internet Day designed by the young people, It does not seem like a typical Safer Internet Day celebration.

» INHOPE presented at first National conference on children online safety in Serbia, On 18th November, the important role of INHOPE in the global fight against online sexual exploitation of children was presented at the first National conference for children safety in Internet organised in Belgrade by the Serbian Hotline.

» The Bulgarian SIC online game Zone of Risk nominated for the World Summit Award, The 3D online quest game for teenagers Zone Of Risk developed by the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre and its partners from Kabinata.com has been nominated for the World Summit Award.

» The first youth-led parliament session to be streamed online, On Safer Internet Day (5th February) from 12:00 to 14:00 CET students from across Bulgaria can follow live the discussions within the TeeNET parliament’13, which will take place in the Bulgarian National Assembly Building. Ten delegates, selected through public voting on Facebook, and over 100 students will discuss and vote the first Charter of Online Rights and Responsibilities of the Young People in Bulgaria.

» Grooming disguised as sexting, As sexting has become a wide practice of minors globally some paedophiles use it to disguise their real intentions and collect illegal sexually explicit images of the victims.
