Start of the Commercial Registration System Reform in Bulgaria
 
On May 17, 2005 CSD organized jointly with the Ministry of Justice and the Registry Agency at the Minister of Justice a press conference on the start of the Commercial Registration System Reform in Bulgaria.
The Minister of Justice of Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Anton Stankov, Mr. Svetlozar Tonev, Executive Director of the Registry Agency and the Director of CSD Law Program Dr. Maria Yordanova participated in the press conference.

The press conference was organized on the occasion of the Strategy for Establishing a Central Register of Legal Persons and an Electronic Registries Center of the Republic of Bulgaria, adopted by the Council of Ministers on April 28, 2005.

The Strategy was developed by a Working Expert Group at the Council of Ministers, comprising representatives of all state institutions, stakeholders in the registration reform as well as CSD experts. It outlines the priorities and stages of the introduction of a modern, centralized, electronic system of official registers. The Strategy is based on the recommendations and proposals, elaborated by CSD experts during the period 2001 –2004 and published in the Opportunities for Establishment of Central Register of Legal Persons and Electronic Registries Center in Bulgaria report.
