The First Deputy People's Defender of Spain visited CSD
On October 14, 2003, the First Deputy People's Defender of Spain Ms. Luisa Cava de Llano visited CSD and had a meeting with senior representatives of the Center. During the meeting the participants discussed the recent developments regarding the introduction of the ombudsman institution in Bulgaria and the opportunities for cooperation with the Office of the Spanish People's Defender. more »

Public discussion with the Council of Europe Secretary General Walter Schwimmer: Forthcoming Introduction of the Ombudsman Institution in Bulgaria
The efforts of the civil society in Bulgaria for introducing the ombudsman institution in the country were highly praised by Mr. Walter Schwimmer, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, during a round table discussion on the forthcoming establishment of the ombudsman institution in Bulgaria. Study visit to Spain: Examining the Spanish Experience in Establishing the Ombudsman Institution
From June 25 till July 2, 2003, a group of Bulgarian experts visited Spain (Madrid and Barcelona) with the objective to get acquainted with the legislative framework and some practical aspects of the activities of the Spanish People's Defender and the People's Defender of Catalonia. The group included representatives of the legislature, the executive, and the judiciary, as well as experts, involved in the preparation of the legislation and the practical introduction of the ombudsman institution in Bulgaria. more »
 
The Spanish People's Defenders: A Model for Establishing the Ombudsman Institution in Bulgaria
On April 25-28, 2003, CSD senior staff representatives visited the offices of the Spanish People's Defender in Madrid and the People's Defender of Catalonia in Barcelona.
