» Launch of the Tenth National Contest ‘Innovative Enterprise of the Year 2014’,
Applied Research and Communications Fund together with and Enterprise Europe Network - Bulgaria and KIC InnoEnergy launch the Tenth National Contest ‘Innovative Enterprise of the Year 2014’. The contest is supported by the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Energy and the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria.
The contest editions are open to all active companies, without sector limitations, that have successfully developed and implemented an innovation for the past three years.

The Applied Research and Communications Fund organised a pilot for Bulgaria consultation with citizens on sustainable consumption, which was held on the 25 th of October 2014 at the premises of Universiada Hall in Sofia. The method is known as Europe Wide Views.

The conference is organised by Applied Research and Communications Fund together with the European Network for Workplace Innovation (EUWIN) and is being held in conjunction with the European SME Week 2014.

The European Commission's 6th Report on Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion published today shows that EU Cohesion Policy is delivering on the growth goals of the Europe 2020 Strategy by creating jobs and reducing disparities across Europe. Looking ahead to 2014-2020, the report outlines how investments will be focused on key areas like energy efficiency, employment, social inclusion and SMEs to get the most of the investments to the benefit of citizens.

The European Commission has launched the first call for proposals under the LIFE funding programme for projects dedicated to environment. The LIFE sub-programme for environment will provide ?238.86 million in 2014 to develop and implement innovative ways to respond to environmental challenges across Europe, focusing on the conservation of nature and biodiversity, resource efficiency and environmental governance and information.

The European Commission has published new proposals for a new Regulation on organic production and the labelling of organic products. Consumer and producer concerns are at the heart of this new proposal, which seeks to address shortcomings of the current system. The EU organic market has quadrupled in size over the last 10 years and rules need to be updated and adjusted so that the sector can further develop and respond to future challenges.
