» Release of e-Bulgaria Report 2004, ARC Fund has released its latest e-Bulgaria Report 2004. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the country’s state of preparedness for the Information Society (e-readiness) over the period 2002-2004. It traces the progress in ICT infrastructure deployment and the availability and use of Internet and ICT-related services in Bulgarian society, economy, government and education.

» First Global Meeting of Country Gateways Takes Place in Bonn, Germany, The first global meeting of Country Gateway took place in Bonn (Germany) on June 24-28, 2004. Representative of Country Gateway organizations from 52 countries, including ARC Fund in Bulgaria, signed a Charter which formally inaugurated the Country Gateways Network (CGN) as one of the main pillars of the Development Gateway initiative. The meeting was organized as a related event to this year's Development Gateway Forum.

» ARC Fund Organized e-Government Foresight Workshop at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, On February 13, 2004 at the Ministry of Transport and Communications ARC Fund organized a wider consultancy workshop to present the interim results of the e-Government Foresight initiative in Bulgaria, implemented under the ForeTech project. The aim of this workshop was to discuss and endorse the final foresight results within a larger stakeholder community.

» Business Coalitions Fostering Transparency in Electronic Public Services, ARC Fund, the Ministry of Finance and Coalition 2000 organized a roundtable discussion on electronic public services with representatives of the major business associations in Bulgaria.

» ARC Fund Promotes E-Business Development in the Less-Favoured Regions of Bulgaria , ARC Fund is involved in a project aimed at building adaptive zones for interregional e-commerce in specific sectors of SMEs from less favored regions in Bulgaria. Project partners are different scientific and commercial entities from Bulgaria, Germany, UK and Greece. The main goal is to increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to improve their access to the global European market. The project establishes virtual regional zones for e-commerce, as well as support centers to help particular enterprises substitute the conventional commercial relations with e-business solutions and increase their efficiency and growth potential.

» ARC Fund Helps Bulgarian Industrial Companies Incorporate Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MOEMS) in Their Products, Since 2002 ARC Fund is a member of the MOEMS (Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems) Competence Center which assists European industries in incorporating MOEMS in their products, helps industrial customers implementing existing technologies and develops new MOEMS components and technology for their products and systems, in order to increase their competitiveness.
