Seminar: Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy
On 14 November 2007 the Ministry of Economy and Energy organized a seminar on the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy. Dr. Konstantin Pashev, Senior Fellow at the Economic Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy presented Bulgaria’s position in the World Competitiveness Yearbook of IMD (International Institute for Management Development). more »
 
RIS BRIDGE Scenario Workshop for identifying the long-term goal of the Regional Innovation Strategy for the South West region
ARC Fund, together with the Center for the Study of Democracy, organized a Scenario Workshop for identifying the long-term goal of the Regional Innovation Strategy for the South West planning region and for discussing concrete measures to be incorporated in the Action Plan for the strategy’s implementation. The event took place in Borovets on 11-12 October 2007 and was carried out within the frame of the RIS BRIDGE initiative for building regional capacity to work with the financial instruments of the European Cohesion and Structural Funds. more »

Round table: Corruption in the Bulgarian Healthcare: Acquired Institutional Deficiency Syndrome
On 23 July 2007 the Center for the Study of Democracy organized a round table to present its latest report Corruption in the Bulgarian Healthcare. At a time of heightened social sensitivity to persisting problems in the Bulgarian healthcare system, the report examines the causes and consequences of corruption in the Bulgarian healthcare. more »
 
Round Table: Corruption in Public Procurement: Risks and Reform Policies
On 26 June 2007 the Center for the Study of Democracy organized a round table on corruption in public procurement in Bulgaria with a special focus on the energy sector. During the event Dr. Konstantin Pashev and Mr. Assen Dyulgerov, Senior Fellows at the Economic Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy, presented to foreign diplomatic missions and media the English issue of the report Corruption in Public Procurement: Risks and Reform Policies. more »

On 13 June 2007 the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), the Federal City Council, Washington and the Center for the Study of Democracy, Sofia organized a round table Building Public-Private Partnerships: The Experience of Bulgaria in Washington D.C. Key note speaker at the event was the Mayor of Sofia Mr. Boyko Borissov who presented the possibilities for public-private partnerships in financing and implementing infrastructure projects in Sofia. more »
 
Conference: Regional Innovation Strategies in Bulgaria: Managing European Funds Effectively
